Competencies for networking: theoretical model and applications to interorganizational networks
Abstract: A competencies model for working in networked environments is presented, structured on three blocks: competencies needed (i) to operate in such environments, (ii) for maintaining an equilibrium of roles and exercising leadership within the network, and (iii) to enable the development of generative capacities within the network. The value of these competencies is described in the specific context of inter-organizational networks, where the actors proceed from different organizational cultures, and where generative capacities assume greater importance. The model is applied to two case studies of inter-organizational networks in order to examine its applicability.
